About Blogroll
Most people build their blogrolls really slowly and get to know the sites they linkback to. Many people only do so when they are linked themselves - depending on what sort of a fish they are in the blogging pond. Not so with me. I hope my blogroll will stay lively and have entries added and taken away from time to time, and with no necessary linkback to be found on my blogrolled sites to this one. One thing makes for a blogroll entry, a site or blog to which I intend to return (regardless of whether it is on my “favourites”).
It occurs to me that the little sidebar squib explaining the XFN badging could do with some more explanation since it carries more meaning than you may think. Some of my blogs, particularly the reading ones, may have a number in brackets after the title - this is intended to indicate (approximately) the number of posts made to the blog in an average month.
My Blogroll has now been ordered into sections matching the categories - any more random or eclectic entries will be right at the bottom of the blogroll and not “sectioned”!
The exceptions are those with the “friendly” badge. These sites (and some are indeed sites rather then blogs) are there for various reasons but it is guaranteed that at some level I have had interaction with the authors - sometimes online only and sometimes real world, it varies and the hover title will give you clues (works in IE, not sure what other browsers will do it, but I know Chrome and Safari probably too lightweight to cover that!).
Does that help explain the nature of my blogroll? I hope so.
